Co-Head & Teacher
Role
Together with his wife, he is responsible for the management of Lernkraftwerk. In this role, he co-develops the teaching materials and personally teaches the students during their preparation for the gymnasium entrance exam.
Education
He completed his studies at ETH Zurich in Biology with a focus on chemistry. He then earned his PhD at the University of Zurich in plant biology. Afterwards he moved to England where he worked as a postdoctoral researcher for three and a half years. He is currently completing postgraduate training to become a specialist in laboratory medicine (FAMH) in clinical immunology.
Teaching Experience
His teaching activities began during his studies at ETH Zurich, where he led exam preparation courses in chemistry and mathematics. In total, he has been teaching for nearly 20 years, working with both groups and individual students. from lower secondary level through to gymnasium and university.
Focus
In his pedagogical work, he places great importance on students truly understanding the material and recognizing connections. At the same time, especially in intensive preparation phases before exams, he is able to teach the key competencies and strategies in a targeted way so that tasks can be solved confidently. He is also characterised by a strong enthusiasm for learning. The desire to understand how things are connected and to delve deepler into new subjects continues to shape his career to this day. He brings this passion for learning into his teaching.
Personal Life
Outside the classroom, he also has a strong understanding of the everyday lives of young people. As the foster father of his niece, he is very familiar with the challenges of growing up and approaches young people with calmness, patience, and an open ear. Animals also play an important role in his life – especially his cats.
