Rosmarie Thalmann
Founder, Co-Head and Teacher
Role
She is the founder of Lernkraftwerk and, together with her husband, responsible for the management of the company. She develops the course concepts and teaching materials and personally teaches the students during their preparation for the gymnasium entrance exam.
Education
She is a trained secondary school teacher and is currently studying for a Master’s degree in medicine at the University of Zurich. Education and medicine are her two great passions.
Teaching Experience
Overall, she has 15 years of teaching experience, more than ten of which are in teaching preparation for the gymnasium entrance exam. During this time, for six years at GVZH, three years at the Logos Lehrerteam, and one year at a public school in the Canton of Zurich, she taught, among other places.
Focus
In her pedagogical work, she places great importance on individual support. It is particularly important to her to accurately assess the current learning level of each student. Based on this, she plans the next learning steps in a targeted way so that students are challenged without being overwhelmed. Supporting neurodivergent students is also a matter close to her heart. As she herself has ADHD, she knows from personal experience the challenge of structuring large amounts of material and setting priorities. She therefore teaches not only subject knowledge but also concrete learning strategies that help students maintain an overview and learn efficiently. What particularly distinguishes her is her strong enthusiasm for learning itself. She has an insatiable curiosity and loves understanding new connections and passing on knowledge.
Personal Life
In addition to her pedagogical work, her personal life also shapes her approach to young people. As the foster mother of her niece, she is closely familiar with many of the challenges of growing up and approaches students with great understanding and sensitivity. Animals are also very important to her – especially her cats, which have a special place in her life.
